10 THINGS A PREGNANT WOMAN NEEDS TO KNOW

Being pregnant can be a daunting task. Its process entails the combination of two bodies that will share almost everything together until the child is born. Here are the various things every pregnant woman should know;

 

  1. AVOID CAFFEINATED DRINKS WITH MEALS:

Your body needs to increase Iron intake during pregnancy and intake of caffeine affects proper absorption of Iron in your body.

 
 

2. SWOLLEN FEET:

When you are pregnant, there is a likelihood your body will change and swelling of your feet is not an exception. Your body will gain extra fluids which will make your feet swell a bit. It is just a phase of the pregnancy, and it will soon be over.

 

3. NEVER MISS ANTENATAL APPOINTMENTS:

Pregnant women must not skip appointments with the doctor as it is very important. This can prevent occurrence of complications during pregnancy.

 

4. DESIRE FOR SEX:

When you are pregnant, your desire to be intimate with your partner may change, and it is most likely your body crave for more action. It depends on the body of individuals as some people may not feel the need to have sex.

These are signs that you see when you are pregnant. Your tummy and body will be enlarged, and there is nothing you can do about that but you can apply moisturizer on your belly to reduce the effects of stretch marks.

 

6. CALCIUM INTAKE:

Pregnant women are advised to increase their calcium intake by consuming dairy foods and calcium –enriched drinks like water, ice cream, evaporated milk and yogurt. This also helps the growth of the baby in the womb.

 

7. SUDDEN MOOD CHANGES:

Pregnant women are very unpredictable when they have their mood swings. These moments are characterized by expressions of anger, tears and unfounded fears. Some people often avoid pregnant women as they believe they cannot be emotionally stable.

Don’t be afraid as these signs will pass away with time.

 

8. AVOID WEARING UNDERSIZED BRAS:

Pregnant women are strongly advised to avoid the use of undersized bras as this will restrict the growth of milk glands in their breasts.

 

9. REGULAR CONSUMPTION OF WATER:

Pregnant women should be aware that water use is paramount to their health during pregnancy. The body needs more fluids in this period.

 

10. NEW HABITS THAT ARE NOT PART OF YOU:

When you are pregnant, there is a change in your body mechanism which includes snoring as the membranes in your nose are swollen which makes you snore whenever you are sleeping. Pregnant women have issues with taste, their behavioral patterns which sometimes make them aggressive and itchy body as a result of heat.
